LOOK: 40 years journo who supports Duterte slams Roque: Ikaw ang magtuturo sakin ng values ng ‘mainstream media?’ yabang mo naman

Aside from Pro-Duterte bloggers, even veteran ‘mainstream media’ journalist Jay Sonza expressed his disappointment to the newly appointed Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Sonza, who expressed his confidence to Roque before, wrote an article against the spox in his newly founded Facebook page.

The veteran journalist was disappointed after Roque told the supporters of President including him, that he would try to teach them the value of ‘mainstream media’ and he would point out the contribution of the press to the election victory of Duterte.

Sonza, who worked for mainstream media for 40 years as public affairs writer, reporter, desk man, associate producer, producer, supervising producer, news manager at news director, news and public affairs program presenter, station manager and chief operations officer in radio and television said that the statement of Roque was quite arrogant because he’s more knowledgeable about the rights of the press than the Presidential Spokesperson.

He also said that despite of being a journalist, the constitutional freedom of the journalists and  normal Filipinos are the same.

Sonza pointed out that media cannot demand for respect from the Duterte Diehard Supporters who were angered by the negative news that they published about the President.

This is his whole post:

Presidential spokesman Secretary Harry Roque wants to teach Mocha Uson and President Rodrigo Duterte’s HORDES OF ONLINE SUPPORTERS a thing or two about the virtues of the “mainstream media” and its constitutional freedoms.
Ano kamo Spox Roque? Tuturuan mo kami (Jojo Robles of Manila Standard/Bobi Tiglao of Manila Times, and the likes). I am an online supporter of Mr. Duterte. You are going to teach me the virtues ng “mainstream media?” Are you kidding us? Hindi ka naman siguro nagpapatawa spox?
40 years ako sa “mainstream media.” Naging news and public affairs writer, reporter, desk man, associate producer, producer, supervising producer, news manager at news director, news and public affairs program presenter, station manager at chief operations officer sa radyo at telebisyon;
The constitutional gurantee is for everybody, regardless of race, sex, political or spiritual belief.
Mainstream media is not a special breed of animal to be afforded respect. Besides, respect is earned. It cannot be demanded of. Media should disabuse its mind. Watchdog tag is just its own creation or imagination. I find no statute declaring media as such.
So please stop hallucinating by thinking mainstream media should be afforded special treatment.
Before, Jay Sonza praised Roque and described him as a ‘pitbull’ in terms of argumentation and debate.
He also said that Roque is a ‘fearless lawyer’ for being handling controversial cases like Ampatuan Massacre and Jennifer Laude case.
Jay Sonza said in his post two weeks ago.
